From 'Yaanji' to 'Nenjukulle'; 'Imaye Imaye' to 'Naan Nee', she has been ruling our playlists all along. The prodigy herself, Shakthisree Gopalan adorned the stages of Thamizhi with her mellifluous voice. Her soundtracks are the ones we live our lives to, the chords of escape and peace. The different genres of her songs steal our hearts every single time. Her rather soothing yet passionate melodies can fit into any sector of human life, she is the most symphonic and unmatched music sensation. Where words fail, her music speaks beyond language and physical barriers. She opened TLA's unrivaled premium event, Thamizhi with an hour's concert with a beautiful rendition of all of her beautiful cinematic hits and a very engaging conversation with our students and carried out the entire session soulfully.
He said its 'Oru time pakkalam', but he confined us to watching his stand-ups over and over again every time we needed an escape from reality. Jagan Krishnan set the stage on fire with his impetuous jokes and upbeat frantic music. He kept the audience extremely engaged and tied them between the chords of his guitar over a half an hour session brimming with boundless fun and laughter. The whole auditorium was filled with voices with our audience singing along with him for his signature music line "Free aa Varuviya" which still echoes in the hearts and minds like 'was yesterday.
With all his surreal yet spontaneous jokes that gave us a taste of ecstasy, Mervyn Rozz brought about a perfect story with a streak of humor blended with effective audience involvement. His ever so appealing good looking charm with that signature dimple just added a tinge of excitement to the whole half an hour stand up comedy show. There is no match for his humor sense and excellent comic timing. His scintillating show made it an everlasting memory down the history lane of our events and also takes an irreplaceable spot in our PB-TLA 's unrivaled hall of pride.
